Judi

Judi Babcock,
Children's Ministry Director

judi@cbclife.org, x248

Judi joined the Children's Ministries staff in 2008 when the downturn in the economy ended her 20-year career as a Technical Writer. She joyfully claims Jeremiah 29:11-13 as her life verse, and attributes the Lord's infinite wisdom to bringing her back to her roots of Early Childhood Education. As a non-believer, she majored in Early Childhood Education in college, but a series of misguided life choices took her far from the Lord's path. After receiving Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, he began to slowly piece together a life worth living.

Now, having been a member of CBC for over 20 years, she has become the church's cheerleader. "I love this church with all my heart and soul. This body of believers is my family for life. I love serving CBC's 'beautiful babies' and their families, and I treasure all the teachers and helpers who selflessly serve along side of me."

Judi is married to "the most wonderful man on the planet," Donovan, and has been gifted with two remarkable children, Rachel and Jonah. Her other loves include singing, reading, and going to the movies.

Joey Coray
Joey Coray, Worship Minister
joey@cbclife.org, x212

Joey joined the ministry at CBC in August 2007.  Joey was born in 1983 and comes to CBC from Visalia, CA where he was raised.  After completing his BA in Music Education/Vocal Performance at San Jose State University, he completed a year’s internship at Westgate Church.  He loves to sing Southern gospel music and lead worship!  He enjoys playing the occasional game of basketball and, of course, video games. An interesting fact: Joey has the ability to harmonize with himself!

Joey feels he is incredibly blessed that his job is to help others meet with God, as a body, on a weekly basis.  His passion for ministry is the people and relationships that he gets to build while working at CBC.

Brad Gouwens
Student Minister

brad@cbclife.org, x209

Brad is a native of Chicago and recently moved here with his family to join us at CBC.
He accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord at the age of fourteen and ever since then He has been striving to follow Jesus with all of the passion and enthusiasm he can muster.  When on a mission trip to Mexico at the age of 17, he heard God's call on his life to bring the Word of God to the next generation. He is graduate of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with BA in Bible/Expositional Preaching.  Brad desires to ignite a passion for God among the students of CBC and to help create a culture of intentional families.

Brad is a huge hockey fan and loves riding his bike and spending time outdoors.  He has a beautiful wife, Sara, and two wonderful children, Sophia and Brian.

Nanda
Samuel Nandakumar, Ph.D., Lead Pastor & Pastor of Global Outreach
nanda@cbclife.org x210

Samuel Nandakumar (a.k.a Nanda) was born in Tamilnadu, South India and received both a B.S. and a B.Ed. from Indian universities before completing a B.S. from San Jose Bible College, a Master's in Divinity from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.  In 1976, Nanda married Elizabeth and they have three children and two grandchildren.  Nanda enjoys reading and the occasional mystery or sci-fi movie but confesses that his passion is found in his garden and in traveling.  September 1998 saw the beginning of a new venture for Nanda at CBC when he began to lead and mentor Global Outreach and Life Groups.

After having served as CBC's Interim Lead Pastor for several months, Pastor Nanda was confirmed as Lead Pastor in the spring of 2009.

Nanda’s most identifiable trait is his quick wit and ready smile. His passion for ministry is to see CBC truly become a multi-cultural body of believers.

(Volunteer)
alan@cbclife.org

Alan is a Pennsylvania native who graduated from Stanford with a BS in Math and spent 35 years in the computer business.  He began attending CBC in 1981 and started his current ministry in July 2006, after having retired from HP the previous year.  He has been married to Gretchen for over 40 years.  Together, they boast of two daughters, one son, a grandson, and two granddaughters.  When not working on a project at CBC, Alan can be found listening to Christian radio, working on his collection of vintage German cars, or on the golf course.

Alan’s passion for ministry is to give his time for the work of the Church.  If there is something he can do to help things work better, then he wants to contribute.
